INTERNATIONAL ART MAGAZINE

60 featured artists

This limited-edition print magazine marks the 22nd issue of Al-Tiba9 Contemporary Art.

ISSUE22 brings together a curated selection of 60 visual artists, designers, and performers from across the globe. Carefully conceived and produced, this edition offers a distinct platform where each contributor becomes both the voice and the medium of their own creative expression. The magazine continues Al-Tiba9’s commitment to amplifying bold contemporary perspectives through a visually compelling and critically engaging format.

For this issue, the front and back cover are dedicated to the work of JJJJJ. Her work investigates the human form as an aesthetic and emotional signifier of contemporary life. Working across AI, computer graphics, visual effects, and extended reality, she probes the tension between vulnerability and spectacle.

FLESH Lilac Proxy, generative digital image, 2026 © JJJJJ

Launched in 2026 by artist JJJJJ, FLESH is an ongoing exploration of the human form as both an aesthetic object and an emotional signifier of contemporary life. Each piece emerges from intensive cross-pollination of hybrid visual elements — making every FLESH categorically unique.

JJJJJ is a Chinese artist based in Beijing whose practice spans AI, XR, 3D, and VFX. She takes the human body as her subject — as both an emotional and aesthetic signifier of contemporary life — and investigates how it holds the tension between bodily truth and digital spectacle. Her work has been presented at the METAXIS New Media Art Festival in Budapest, the Second International AI Art Exhibition at the Czong Institute for Contemporary Art in South Korea, and the North Carolina Museum of Art, as well as in exhibitions across New York City, Germany, and Poland. Features include Prompt Magazine, Al-Tiba9, PJAS, and AIMA’s official selection. She holds degrees in fine art from New York University (BFA) and Muthesius University of Fine Arts and Design (MFA), and in computer science from Dartmouth College (MS).

Origin — FLESH draws its aesthetic DNA from original visuals, synthetic materials, fashion code, graphic design, and speculative image regimes. These inputs are remixed and mutated through algorithmic processes to birth entirely new digital physiologies.

Style — FLESH rejects fixed visual signatures. Each work is calibrated to a precise emotional rupture — yielding a continuously evolving corpus of digital bodies. Powered by AI, FLESH traverses visual possibility at computational velocity, creating forms that are formally divergent yet conceptually unified.

Theme — FLESH is anchored by an unrelenting fixation: the body as a vessel for maximum visual and emotional voltage. Pain, desire, identity, and social friction pulse through the charged surface of the body. Each piece probes the visual potency of fabricated corporeality — can digital physicality summon visceral responses that rival, or even exceed, those of organic reality?

Owning FLESH means claiming a moment of aesthetic discovery that even the artist cannot replicate. It is not possession of an image, but stewardship of an irreplaceable creation born from machine-augmented spontaneity. Check out the NFT collection.
