Working from the perspective of the individual, Pan’s work explores the profound transformations of space, power relations, and social networks faced by a mobile population through sculptures and videos, appropriating everyday life scenes based on her semi-fictional writings.
Jiaming You is a painter and installation artist based in Chicago. You utilizes found imagery and photos taken by themselves to construct scenes of bodies in non-existent scenarios as an attempt to critique the limiting nature of social norms in depicting individuality and uses their experience and positionality as a non-binary immigrant as a source of knowledge and site of exploration to the confines of social norms and the distribution of power.
Jia Hao (b. 1990, China) is a visual artist based in the Yunnan province of China, with a BA in Fine Art from the State University of New York in Albany. Jia Hao works predominantly in photography and collage, building surreal narratives within her work. Her main focus is on the human body and the environment, and through her work, she creates a dialogue about the expression and concealment of human identity.
Chun Han is a photographer and creative director based in New York. Chun has been creating works focus on Asian women's social dilemmas, photographing Asian women and women's bodies, especially her self-portraits. Her other studio and video work were largely impacted by her theatre background by staging contrasting colors and theatrical effects in the images.
Shou-An Chiang currently lives and works in London. She works across photography, video, performance, and installation, in which she explores the ambiguity of relationships and identities, and portrays alienation in a pluralistic society from her own experience. Her recent project, QUEERASIAN, portrays queer Asian people in Western society, and aims to show the faces and stories of these communities from an insider's perspective.
