Wenyu Zheng | Sculpture, Digital Art

Wenyu Zheng is an artist and fashion designer whose practice explores the emotional and structural potential of materials through sculpture and installation. Born in Hangzhou, China, he holds an MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where he received the SAIC Merit Scholarship, the Luminarts Fellowship, and the Fashion Council Fellowship. His work has been exhibited in Chicago at venues including Chicago Sculpture International, DragonFLY Gallery, Chicago Fine Art Salon, and Art City.

Fragment is a central methodology in Zheng’s practice, examining how structures bornfrom rupture generate meaning.Working with digital modeling, resin casting, and hand-sculpted forms, he creates environments of ripple-patterned surfaces and expressive hands that materialize memory, emotion, and embodiment. Rather than resolving fragmentation, his installations invite viewers to inhabit incompleteness as a living and perceptual state.
