Wei Wu is a multidisciplinary artist working at the intersection of speculative design and emergent technologies. Wei holds a masters in Art, Design, and the Public Domain from Harvard Graduate School of Design.

Memorial of Forgotten Casualties is an immersive, futuristic installation serving as a long-lasting underground public memorial and monument, accessible through secret augmented reality portals. The project explores how browser-based 3D scanning visualization and augmented reality can be used as archeological and activism tools. It empowers marginalized and estranged city residents and immigrants by providing a platform for survival, communication, and expression in public spaces. Visitors interact with the digital landscape via smartphones' QR codes, voicing opinions and reclaiming identities connected to specific places. Located at Tanner Fountain, the memorial is a testament to the power of innovative public art and memorialization, focusing on empowering marginalized communities, fostering a sense of belonging, and highlighting underrepresented voices and stories.
