Milena Stojanovic Stosic | Painting

Milena Stojanović Stošić is a visual artist based in Novi Sad, Serbia. She studied painting at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad and holds a PhD in pedagogical sciences, focused on creativity in art education. Her work has been presented in numerous exhibitions and develops through long-term cycles in drawing and painting.

Milena Stojanović Stošić’s artistic practice centres on drawing and painting as means of exploring transformation, identity, and inner spiritual experience. Working primarily on paper and canvas, she develops figurative and hybrid forms in which the human body becomes a site of change, intuition, and psychological tension.

Across different cycles, her work explores themes of the feminine principle, nature, and myth as open fields of meaning. Archetypal figures and animal imagery reflect inner states and the relationship between individual and collective experience.

The series New Eve presents the feminine principle as a dynamic force of renewal and balance, linking historical and mythological references with a contemporary context. Rather than illustrating narratives, the works open a space for reflection, where meaning emerges through form and colour.
