Filip Moszant | Painting, Installation
Filip Moszant - Portrait | Ph. Maks Gadomski
Filip Moszant is a Polish–French visual artist working in painting and large-format printed installations. He graduated with a Master’s degree from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw with the Rector’s Distinction (2017) and previously earned a Licence Degree from the École des Beaux-Arts de Bordeaux (2010). He is the recipient of the ArteLaguna Special Prize (Italy, 2025), an international award that included a residency within the NY20+ program in Chengdu, situating his practice within a global contemporary art context.
His paintings pulse with movement, texture, and color, blurring the lines between control and chaos. His layered approach allows colors to collide violently or dissolve into meditative softness, creating compositions that feel alive. While rooted in abstraction, his work carries a sense of narrative, suggesting landscapes, memories, or fleeting emotions. Scale plays a crucial role in his practice, immersing viewers in vast fields of color and motion. His surfaces, at times eroded and scraped, evoke geological formations, while bold swaths of paint create a sense of expansion and release. In a world dominated by digital imagery, his work reaffirms painting as a direct and deeply human form of expression.
His work has been presented in institutional and public contexts across Europe and Asia. Moszant’s work is represented in public and private collections, including PKO Bank Polski and the World Bank. He has participated in numerous national and international group exhibitions and competitions, receiving distinctions such as the Dystans Art Competition (2020). He has been selected for residencies including Can Serrat (Spain, 2026) and NY20+ (China, 2026), which are upcoming.
