Esra Sakar is a fine art photographer and visual artist who graduated top of her class from Marmara University’s Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Photography. Her artistic practice delves into the space between consciousness and the unconscious, exploring memory, emotion, psychological wounds, and the language of dreams. She is particularly drawn to the inner worlds of those marginalized or silenced by society. Deeply influenced by mythology and psychology, her work navigates archetypes, trauma, and the subconscious. Photography, for her, is more than a visual tool; it becomes a vessel for silent emotions and a mirror to the soul’s fractures. She has exhibited her work both nationally and internationally and participated in various workshops. Alongside her personal projects, she collaborates with local and global brands, integrating conceptual depth into commercial work. At the heart of her practice lies a belief that art is a graceful means of transforming internal ache into something meaningful.
Esra Sakar approaches art as a way of connecting with the unseen. Sakar believes that every mind labeled as “broken” often holds a sensitive, intricate universe worth seeing. Her photography becomes a window into these inner realms, inviting viewers to look inward. Her visual narratives are shaped by archetypes, trauma, dreams, and layers of consciousness. Each image is a search for what lies beneath the surface. Sakar creates intimate visual spaces where the viewer may feel seen, reflected, or simply less alone.
