Allegra Esclapon de Villeneuve | Sculpture

Allegra Esclapon de Villeneuve (b. 1996, Vienna) is a multidisciplinary artist specialising in ceramics and sculpture. Raised in Florence, Italy, within a context of ceramics and craftsmanship, she developed a connection to art from an early age. She later studied Costume Design for Theatre and Film at Wimbledon College of Arts (UAL) in London, followed by a Master’s in Art and Cultural Management in Barcelona. Initially working in ceramic production in Florence, she transitioned to a more experimental practice, integrating live sculpting into her work after moving to Spain.

Her work explores the intersection of material, movement, and human experience. Through her ongoing project Reverso, she investigates the abstraction of the human form through spontaneous movement, informed by conversations, personal narratives, and embodied memory. Her sculptures seek to translate intangible experiences, such as emotion and tension, into physical form. Her current research focuses on the spaces that exist between and within bodies, and on the dialogue between ceramics, performance, and textiles. She approaches sculpture as an extension of the body, where form becomes a trace of lived experience. She has exhibited and performed in Barcelona and Madrid.
