Agustina Fuster | Painting

Agustina Fuster - Portrait

Agustina Fuster is a visual artist based in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Her practice develops through painting, exploring the boundaries between reality and illusion, fragmentation, distortion, and the ambiguity of the image. She studied Graphic Design at the University of Buenos Aires and attended Drawing and Painting workshops at the National University of the Arts. She participated in various artist programs focused on critical dialogue and artistic production. Her work investigates the illusion of painting through multiplication, fragmentation, and reflection, evoking the gesture of breaking a mirror and the attempt to reconstruct what has been fractured. Distortion operates as a displacement of reality, opening a space of strangeness where images generate multiple versions of themselves. Water runs through her practice as a principle of matter and imagination. In its liquid and transmutable capacity, it shapes mirrors and reflective surfaces where images emerge, dissolve, and unfold. Through these processes, she conceives painting as a transformative act.

She was selected for the Young Art Salon at the Emilio Pettoruti Provincial Museum (2023) and the 68° Salón Manuel Belgrano (2024) in the painting category. In 2025, she participated in the Error Proyecto residency in Mexico City and presented her first solo exhibition, The Inner Landscape, in Buenos Aires. Her work has been featured in international magazines such as Divide, Al-Tiba9, and Suboart.
